Acts 2:22-24 NKJV
[22] “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know— [23] Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; [24] whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.
What is the foundation of your faith?
Why do you believe what you believe?
If you have never been asked these questions, how would you answer them? Does a particular set of circumstances come to mind, or would you issue the same standard cookie cutter answer to everyone?
Faith should extend beyond a generic profession of faith. It should be personal, intimate, and filled with passion. If it isn't, you should be digging deeper into getting to know Jesus.
Scripture gives us a snapshot into His life, ministry, death, and resurrection. There are no bones... only an empty tomb. He conquered death and the grave. He healed the sick, restored sight to the blind, and fed a hungry multitude with two fish and five loaves of bread. He cast out demons. He led a motley crew of questionable characters in a way that changed the world. I love the stories, but He is more than that.
He knows me. He loves me. He leads me. He saved me from death, hell, and addiction. He is always with me. He restored me. The list goes on and on. It isn't a coincidence. It is intentional. The Lord honors our efforts to make the relationship real, personal, and tangible.
Psalms 145:18 - The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.
