Titus 3:12-15 NKJV

[12] When I send Artemas to you, or Tychicus, be diligent to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there. [13] Send Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey with haste, that they may lack nothing. [14] And let our people also learn to maintain good works, to meet urgent needs, that they may not be unfruitful. [15] All who are with me greet you. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.

I have to work for people and around people all the time. It's no wonder that I often find myself "peopled" out by the end of the week. I spend most of my time distracted by busyness and being pulled in a dozen different directions. There is always an undeniable draw to opting out of any unnecessary activities if I am given the option.

If I am not serving on a Sunday morning, I will always default to the excuse of needing to rest and recover from a busy week. As a former addict, recovery has never once included isolation.

Hebrews 10:24. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25. not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the day approaching.

Some of my most important relationships outside of my home are within the walls of my church. Being actively involved with fellow believers has kept me grounded in my faith and focused on following Jesus. Even when I don't feel like it, I understand how important those connections are to me, to my sanity, and to my sobriety.
